Groupement FLE focuses on quality and promotion

The French school association Groupement FLE celebrated the 10th anniversary of the Qualité FLE accreditation label.

The Groupement FLE is an association created in 2008 with 31 member centres teaching French as a Foreign Language.

There are three main objectives:

  • a dynamic and progressive quality approach based on external accreditations and/or internal audits.
  • the promotion of its members.
  • the pooling together of information and actions concerning the whole profession towards various authorities.

Under the theme of destination France the event welcomed representatives from more than 30 French language schools, both members of Groupement FLE and non-members.

A workshop session was also led by Stéphane Grivelet from FIPF (International Federation of French Teachers), keen to explore how the two organisations can have closer links to promote French language training for the benefit of members.

There were also perspectives on the wider world of language learning abroad from Sarah Aitken, former Executive Director of Eaquals, and Ana Cozar, Director of Spain’s language school federation FEDELE.

On the second day of the conference, Groupement FLE unveiled a new President, Christophe Tissot, Director of Institut de Touraine, who replaces Patrick de Bouter, Director of Collège International de Cannes. Under the presidency of Patrick de Bouter, Groupement FLE has become the partner of choice for French Government institutes such as the CIEP, Campus France and the various ministries responsible for the label Qualité FLE. The association had been instrumental in major changes benefiting language schools in France. The most recent of which was the fact that Chinese students can now obtain a student visa solely to learn French, without the requirement of a further education course.

TANDEM International member schools Langue Onze in Toulouse and IEF in Montpellier have obtained the Quality FLE Label.
