TANDEM Santiago was founded in 1992 as Escuela de Idiomas Violeta Parra. Since 1996 the Spanish school is called TANDEM Santiago.
Our member school is situated in a beautiful old mansion, built in the beginning of the 20th century, in Providencia – the modern part of Santiago de Chile.

The Center of Santiago
The “Plaza de Armas” is located right in the city center and is also called “heart and soul” of Santiago. This is a good place to relax after a shopping tour. You can watch performances of street artists or visit the Cathedral of Santiago and the National Museum of History.
The Presidential Palace
The “Palacio de la Moneda” was built from 1784 to 1805. From 1814 to 1929 the building served as a colonial mint. Since 1845 until nowadays it is the seat of the president and the government of Chile. Especially very interesting for tourists is the changing of the guard in the square “Plaza de la Construcción”. You can see this on every odd day also on weekends. It takes place at ten o’clock in the morning.
The Cerro San Cristóbal
This is the most recognizable landmark in Santiago and also the most popular attraction in the city. You can find it in the “Bellavista” district, which is at the moment one of the most fashion quarters in Santiago. The Cerro San Christobal rises 300 meters above the base area of Santiago and is part of the “Parque Metropolitano de Santiago”. You can go there on foot, by car, taxi or funicular.
