TANDEM Madrid is different! Our language school is innovative and takes a humanistic approach. We put passion, intercultural understanding and curiosity at the centre of the learning process. Opened in 1982, we offer a varied programme of Spanish courses, including for specific areas such as business, culture and tourism. Learning with us is a unique experience. Our teaching style is highly communicative and places particular importance on addressing the individual needs of every student.
TANDEM Madrid is accredited by the Instituto Cervantes and enables you to participate in official exams (DELE, CCSE, SIELE). The school also specialises in offering additional training for existing Spanish teachers. Teaching materials are constantly updated and reflect the latest innovations in foreign language teaching methods. Our teachers are highly qualified, motivated and experienced in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. The school’s management team is efficient and flexible. The advice and friendly environment we offer students make it easy for anyone to quickly learn and practice the language. For us, communication is everything. Our school is in a beautiful 19th century building in the ‘Paisaje de la Luz’ (UNESCO 2022), just a few minutes on foot from the Prado Museum and Reina Sofia. We offer language exchanges and an exciting cultural programme to complement our Spanish courses. A language course at TANDEM Madrid is sure to be an unforgettable experience.
Finding a place to stay in Madrid is not always easy. TANDEM Madrid can help you. Want to live close to the school? We recommend a room in a student residence. Here you will quickly be able to make international friends. If your priority is getting to know the Spanish culture, book a room with one of our selected host families. Alternatively, we offer two hotels close to the school – a small but very well-furnished hotel or a low-cost option for those on a tight budget. Whatever your priority, we’ll find the right accommodation for you.
At TADEM Madrid, we not only want to teach you Spanish but also to help you get to know the Spanish culture. Our school offers an exciting cultural programme with daily activities and weekend excursions. Our trips to Toledo and Segovia are always popular. During the week, you can make new friends on our city tours. Evenings are time for our flamenco workshops and cookery courses.

Madrid is Spain’s capital and largest city, located right in the middle of the country. It is extremely well connected thanks to a huge airport, rail links and motorways. The city offers a unique collection of art galleries and museums – most famously the Prado, the Thyssen Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum. Madrid has a flourishing theatre scene and sees major music events and concerts each year. It also has a green heart. The many parks, wide avenues and squares create a pleasant atmosphere. The city is home to the world-famous Real Madrid football club and its rival Atlético Madrid. The Salamanca district is known for its jewellery, shoe, leather and furniture shops. On and around the Plaza Mayor you’ll find a range of shops offering traditional items. Large department stores can be found around Puerta del Sol. El Rastro – the famous flea market – takes place Saturdays and Sundays between the Plaza de Cascorro, La Latina and Calle Embajadores. Madrid is a night owl’s paradise, with many bars and clubs staying open into the early hours of the morning. Avila, Toledo and Segovia are easily reached from Madrid. Don’t miss a visit to El Escorial, Aranjuez and Alcalá de Henares.
