The Spanish language school in Barcelona!

Escuela Mediterráneo – TANDEM Barcelona is a private school specialising in teaching Spanish as a foreign language (ELE). The school’s high quality and intercultural atmosphere make it a popular choice in Barcelona. Students from every corner of the world learn Spanish here all year round. The language school was founded in 1996 by Rocío Vilaró and Emilia Molero. Both the school’s directors have a university degree in Hispanic philology, a master’s in ELE and extensive experience of teaching Spanish as a foreign language.

A perfect location in the city centre, a highly qualified team of teachers who respond to the learning needs and expectations of their students, and teaching methods that combine the latest approaches with years of experience make ours a unique school. Our team is the key to our school’s success. It comprises a group of highly motivated and experienced language teachers along with skilled, multilingual management staff. In Spanish lessons at our school, students learn how to communicate in a Spanish-speaking and intercultural environment. Our students come from very different countries and cultures. Our ambition is for every one of them, working together with their classmates, to develop the skills they need to integrate into Barcelona life and meet local people, be it in shops, markets and restaurants or at home in a shared apartment. Between them, the four members of our management team speak Spanish, Catalan, English, French, German, Russian, Chinese and Japanese. They are here to help you throughout your course with us.

Learn Spanish in Barcelona!

Barcelona is one of Spain’s most spectacular and multicultural cities and its second biggest. The Catalan capital is situated on the Mediterranean coast in north-eastern Spain, around 120 km south of the Pyrenees and the French border. Iberians, Romans, Jews, Visigoths, Moors and Christians have all left their mark on this region. In Barcelona, you can marvel at modernist buildings by architects such as Lluís Domènech i Montaner, Puig i Cadafalch and the world-famous Antoni Gaudi. Along with the Sagrada Familia and Park Güell, you will find other impressive modernist creations such as the Palau de la Música, Hospital de la Santa Cruz, Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Modern art is showcased at the Museu Picasso and Fundació Joan Miró. The Museum of the History of Barcelona manages several Roman-era archaeological sites. The broad seafront promenade – Passeig Marítim – is one of the most beautiful parts of the city, connecting the Barceloneta district with the marina at Port Olímpic. You will also find plenty of cafes and restaurants here where you can sit out in the sun with a sea view in the warmer months of the year. Its wide-ranging culture, proximity to the sea and diverse leisure activities make Barcelona the perfect city to learn Spanish in.
